About Me

Hi, we’re Amy and Lorne — the husband-and-wife team behind Flow State of Mind Media.

We’ve been together since right out of high school (in the 90's!), and we’re raising our amazing kids, relishing in our grand babies, and our spoiling our pets. Over the years we’ve lived and traveled throughout the West, and eventually found our way back to what feels like home: the Treasure Valley area, the part of Eastern Oregon tucked into the Boise Valley where we both grew up.

Photography has been part of our life for a long time. We’ve spent 14+ years capturing people, places, and moments in a way that feels real. Over that time, we’ve had the honor of working with many amazing families, photographing everything from family sessions and milestone moments like senior portraits, maternity, and boudoir (empowerment photography).

We’ve also traveled for work and adventure, photographing and filming across Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, California, Utah, Colorado, and beyond. Our work has taken us into destination weddings, festivals, and some really meaningful spaces like healing retreats, where the goal isn’t just “pretty photos,” but creating images that help people feel seen, strong, and connected to themselves.

If you ask what lights us up the most, it’s the conceptual side — creating in collaboration with artists, cosplayers, and creators who want something bold, imaginative, and cinematic. That world is where our storytelling gets to stretch its legs. It’s not cookie-cutter, and neither are we.

We also love helping small businesses show up with confidence. We have spent years working with networking clubs and a wide range of brands, creating imagery and visual direction that feels aligned and professional without losing the human behind it.

Like a lot of people, COVID changed things for us. We were home more than ever,  homeschooling, staying close to our little country home, and pouring our energy into other creative projects when the world felt paused. We learned new skills, made a lot of things with our hands, and found new ways to create.

And honestly? It’s taken years to recover from that era and the ripple effects it left behind. We’re still building toward the kind of rhythm that feels like our feet are fully back under us and we know the key is getting back into a better flow with our creative talents. That’s exactly what Flow State of Mind Media is: a home base for everything we do best, in a way that’s sustainable, intentional, and real.

Working with us feels collaborative, relaxed, and organized. We take the details seriously, but we never want the experience to feel stiff or transactional. We’re people-first, always. And while we’re practical and grounded, we also believe in intuition, alignment, and the kind of creative magic that happens when it’s the right fit.

Outside of 'work', our happy place is music. When we’re not with our family and pets, we’re chasing live shows. The kind of nights that reset your nervous system and remind you you’re alive and remind us that our love is strong. It’s been one of the sweetest ways we’ve stayed connected through the years.
